What a disappointing takeaway and blind to the incredible failures of Sky Mavis. Wish there was more critical analysis of the hack instead of applauding a company that had only 9 validators, four of which were consolidated in the first place.
Hey potofgreed, kind apologies for coming up short on this one in your eyes. Appreciate the feedback and keeping me on my toes. My critical analysis is this event was a major setback for the Sky Mavis/Axie community, the repurcussions of which will be felt for years, but if anyone can bounce back from this devastating blindside it's Sky Mavis/Axie. I don't think a lesser bunch could but I think Axie will. At no point in the article did I applaud anything though, and the piece isn't blind to the failures, it's bringing more attention to the very newsworthy but very embarassing failures. Like I said earlier though appreciate the feedback, will chew on.
Hey, just want to first say I appreciate (and didn't expect) to get a reply to my comment. I think it's important that We (royal We) as a community are highly critical of our own flaws and able to properly point out major failures. I don't think your article is inherently wrong, but was more optimistic than I was feeling and I projected that feeling in my comment. I hope you don't take personal offense, and I do think optimism is good to have.
Cryptocurrency is rooted in cryptography (it's in the name lol), and the lack of decentralization and security that contributed to this "hack" is appalling imo.
Totally on the same page here, agree with everything you've just said, and def no personal offense taken whatsoever. I sincerely enjoy the dialogue and being challenged and I think you've made a fair case here, I can totally appreciate that the tone was optimistic. I am always looking for ways to sharpen and get better so please don't ever hesitate to lmk your two gwei! Ty
